SYDNEY: Australian authorities confirmed that the suspects in the deadly Bondi Beach attack during a Jewish festival are Indian nationals, ABC News reported.
Philippine immigration officials also confirmed the father-and-son duo entered the Philippines as Indian citizens before returning to Australia and carrying out the attack.
According to media reports, the pair had recently traveled to the Philippines prior to the incident. Australian police confirmed they were responsible for the shooting during a Hanukkah program at Bondi Beach.
Fifteen people were killed, including a rabbi and a Holocaust survivor. Several others were injured.
Initial investigations indicate the attack was inspired by ISIS. Both suspects have been arrested and face legal proceedings.
The attack occurred on December 14, 2025, during the Hanukkah festival at Bondi Beach. The public shooting sparked widespread fear locally and internationally. Following the fatalities and injuries, Australian authorities launched heightened security measures and an ongoing investigation.
