MAKRAN: A dispute over alleged irregularities in the supplementary results of Makran Medical College has escalated into a full-scale protest.
Students have blocked the main CPEC Road in Turbat, halting all vehicle movement, and announced that their sit-in will continue until their demands are met.
The road closure has resulted in severe traffic disruptions, causing significant inconvenience to the public.
Students claim that in the Third Professional supplementary examinations, four candidates were unfairly failed in their viva examinations and were made to repeat the academic year.
According to them, this reflects long-standing inconsistencies and injustices within the examination system.
Protesting students further allege that the preparation of results and the viva process lacked transparency, jeopardizing the future of hardworking candidates.
They have demanded an impartial investigation into the viva results, immediate reversal of unjustified failures, reforms to ensure transparency in the examination process, and formal negotiations between the administration and student representatives.
They warned that if serious measures are not taken, the scope of the protest will expand and the sit-in will continue indefinitely.
Meanwhile, the college administration has yet to issue an official response, fueling further frustration and anxiety among the students.
The blockade has caused long queues of vehicles on CPEC Road, and citizens have urged authorities to resolve the issue promptly to restore normal traffic flow.
