ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Pakistani doctors based in the United States met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday and expressed strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s health sector.
The doctors praised the prime minister for recent improvements in healthcare delivery and medical infrastructure across the country. They acknowledged visible progress in hospitals and public health services at both federal and provincial levels.
The delegation said Pakistani professionals abroad are eager to contribute to the country’s development, especially in health and medical technology.
PM Shehbaz welcomed their initiative and asked the doctors to present a “workable and practical roadmap” to strengthen the health sector. He noted that overseas investment can modernize hospitals, expand specialised care, and support long-term reforms.
The prime minister directed the Economic Affairs Division to immediately resolve any administrative hurdles related to investment proposals. He assured the delegation that the government is committed to facilitating overseas professionals and enabling them to play a larger role in Pakistan’s economic and social development.
