RICHMOD: An Afghan national has been taken into custody in the US state of Virginia on charges of providing assistance to the terrorist group ISIS.
According to the US Department of Homeland Security, the suspect, identified as Jan Shah Safi, was arrested yesterday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities.
Investigators allege that he supplied weapons to his father in Afghanistan, who is believed to be an ISIS commander.
Officials also revealed that Safi entered the United States in 2021 during the Biden administration.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that law enforcement officers successfully captured a dangerous individual involved in supporting ISIS-Khorasan.
She added that this was the fourth arrest of an Afghan national on terrorism-related charges in the United States within a single week.
It is worth mentioning that during the last week , an Afghan national was arrested after shot-killing two national guards near the White House in New York.
The Afghan natioanal was itentified as Rehmanullah. In another militancy incident, the Afghan militants launched a drone attack on the Chinese workers in Tajikistan.
As many as three Chinese were killed in the militant-attack.
It is worth mentioning that many voices have erupted agianst the Afghan militants across the world in the recent times.
Russia, Denmark and many other Europeane countries have called the Taliban militants a global threat. Pakistan too is a prime victim of the militancy backed and supported by Afghanistan.
The Afghan militants have launched thousands of attack in KP and Balochistan’s area only in 2025.
Thosuands of innocent civilians have lost their lives in those attacks.
