QUETTA: Mir Zahoor Buledi, Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, has stated that the government is making concerted efforts to enhance revenue streams and optimize resources for the welfare and development of the people of Balochistan. The minister made these assertions in a statement posted on his official social media account, outlining the administration’s fiscal and developmental priorities.
Highlighting a significant achievement, Minister Buledi addressed the Rekodik project, revealing that the previous provincial assembly and government successfully secured a substantial 25 percent share for Balochistan in the venture. He assured the public that all provincial resources, including its mineral wealth, would be strategically utilized to fund critical development sectors. The minister specifically pledged that revenue generated would be channeled towards the improvement of education, healthcare, and infrastructure across the province.
Buledi issued a pointed message to political leaders, emphasizing that true success for a government is not found in complacency but in the effective mobilization and management of resources. “Success lies in the effective use of resources and collection of income, not in laziness and living on the current situation,” he stated, underscoring a proactive approach to economic governance.
Drawing a comparison with past administrations, the Provincial Minister committed that the current government would utilize Balochistan’s resources more effectively than the national governments of 1997 and 2013. He pointedly noted that researchers are well aware of the limited benefits that trickled down to the common people from the agreements made in 1997. By invoking this historical context, Buledi reinforced the current government’s resolve to learn from the past and ensure that resource exploitation translates into tangible, widespread development for the citizens of Balochistan through more effective and transparent measures.
Meanwhile the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Balochistan has unearthed a major scandal involving fake promotions within the Balochistan Levies Force, leading to multiple arrests and ongoing raids to apprehend other suspects. The investigation was initiated based on a secret report, public complaints, and information circulating on social media, revealing a systematic scheme of forgery and corruption.
