ZIARAT: At least five terrorists associated with the India proxy Fitna al Khawarij, referred to proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were arrested during a targeted operation in Ziarat district of Balochistan.
Confirming the successful operation, Deputy Commissioner of Ziarat said that the district administration and Levies Force conducted a timely operation, resulting in the arrest of five Afghan militants affiliated with the proscribed TTP, hailing from Kandahar province, Afghanistan.
The militants were taken into custody at the Spira Ragha Levies check post.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment was recovered from their possession. The ammunition include 11 hand grenades, 3 SMGs, 2 M4 rifles (in parts), 1 grenade launcher, 9 M4 magazines, 14 SMG magazines, 420 SMG rounds, 230 M4 rounds, 1 kg of explosive material, 6 wireless sets, 4 mobile phones, 2 RPGs, 1 dagger, 13 ammunition bags, 16 power cells, 15 SMG grenades, 1 Suzuki carry van, 1 motorcycle, and literature of the proscribed TTP organisation.
Earlier today, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and dismantled suicide bombers training centre. The security forces also killed 25 Khawarij terrorists including 13 suicide bombers.
