Road accidents on Pakistan’s motorways have become a growing concern due to increasing traffic, over speeding, and lack of driver discipline.
Although motorways are designed for safer and controlled travel, many accidents occur because drivers exceed speed limits, ignore lane rules, or drive while fatigued during long-distance journeys.
Weather conditions such as fog, rain, and low visibility also contribute to pile-ups, especially in winter.
Mechanical failures—like tyre bursts caused by high speed—are another major reason behind fatal crashes on motorways.
The Motorway Police continuously work to improve road safety by implementing strict speed monitoring, providing emergency assistance, and spreading awareness about safe driving practices.
However, despite enforcement, many accidents still happen due to human negligence.
Experts emphasize the need for better road-safety education, routine vehicle maintenance, and stronger penalties for violations.
Improving public awareness and ensuring responsible driving are essential to reducing the increasing number of motorway accidents in Pakistan.
