PESHAWAR: A report has been issued regarding terrorism incidents and police operations in the Bannu region.
According to the report, all attacks carried out since 28 August 2025 have been successfully foiled.
The counterterrorism operations across the region were supervised by RPO Sajjad Khan. Militants attempted 10 attacks on police stations and check-posts in the Bannu region.
The report further states that more than 130 drone attack attempts were made on police stations and checkpoints.
During the operations conducted over the past week, 14 most-wanted terrorists were killed, while 22 militants were injured.
Speaking about the situation, RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan said that certain areas of Bannu still contain militant hideouts, and extremists have carried out multiple attacks on police stations and check-posts. He added that the KP Inspector General has provided extensive resources to the Bannu region to combat terrorism.
Bulletproof gates and a double-wall security system have been installed at police stations.
Sajjad Khan stated that the Bannu region has now been equipped with modern weaponry, and due to advanced resources, major terrorist attacks have been successfully thwarted.
He said that the public has strongly supported the operations, and even the militants’ drone attacks were neutralized with the help of modern techniques.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan has made a stress on Afghanistan to take necessary measures against the militants operating against Pakistan from its territory on several occasions.
However , the Taliban government has been denying Pakistan’s principled stand which has led to the strain between the two countries and the borders on the either sides have been closed.
The suspension of the trade has led to a pause in all the economic activities causing crisis for economy and employment in the entire region.
