ZHOB: Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandokhail has inaugurated an 80-bed private, philanthropic hospital here, marking a significant step towards improving healthcare in the region. He emphasized that a healthy society is built upon the well-being of its children and that this facility will provide crucial medical services to the people of Zhob.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by dignitaries including doctors from Dubai’s Al Zahra Hospital, the Commissioner of Zhob Division, health officials, and local political figures. The hospital administration outlined plans for the facility, which will include dedicated maternal and child healthcare services and a training center for lady health workers and traditional birth attendants. This initiative aims to extend skilled care into remote areas of the district.
The project will begin with 80 beds, with a planned expansion to 200 beds in the future. It will feature a dedicated maternity and gynecology ward and will employ doctors exclusively from Balochistan, creating local employment opportunities. Governor Mandokhail highlighted that the facility, which will operate without government involvement, is a philanthropic endeavor funded by charitable organizations and is modeled after the renowned Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
Praising the people of Zhob as educated and talented, the Governor noted that the hospital addresses a critical need, as women in the region traditionally prefer treatment from female doctors. He stated the institution would serve as a role model for the entire province. Attendees lauded Governor Mandokhail for his pivotal role in bringing modern healthcare to Zhob, with speakers reaffirming a collective commitment to advancing both health and education in the area.
Meanwhile an unfortunate incident, the local residents in Hub’s Daroo area mentioned the alleged abduction of a 15-year-old girl, identified as Nasreena Baloch, daughter of Dilawar. As per the initial accounts from community sources, armed individuals associated with the banned group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) forcibly took the girl and left the area in a vehicle.
In this regard, the official confirmation from law-enforcement agencies was still awaited at the time of reporting, the incident has created widespread concern among local communities, particularly regarding the growing trend of women and underage girls being targeted, coerced, or exploited by militant groups.
