TURBAT: The civilian was killed in Nasirabad, after unidentified armed assailants opened fire, as per the local sources. The victim, identified as Jalal, son of Deen Muhammad, died at the scene.
The area reported that the attackers arrived on motorcycles and fired multiple rounds before fleeing. In this regard, no group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
In addition, the local authorities described the incident as a “targeted assault” on a non-combatant resident.
They condemned the attack and said that acts of violence against unarmed civilians represent a serious violation of human rights and threaten the fragile peace in the region.
In this sense, the community members expressed shock and distress over the killing, noting that such incidents create fear and instability among residents.
“People here want peace and the freedom to go about their daily lives without fear,” said a local elder, speaking on condition of anonymity due to security concerns.
“Any form of violence only deepens the suffering of ordinary families.”
Moreover, the security forces have increased patrolling in and around the area following the attack. So far, the preliminary evidence suggests the involvement of militants operating in the region, though authorities focused on the fact that confirmation will follow only after a full investigation.
Meanwhile, the human rights advocates have also called for restraint and the protection of civilians. The government has repeatedly stressed its commitment to countering militancy and strengthening law-enforcement capabilities.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to the family after medico-legal procedures. The residents and officials alike have called for renewed efforts to uphold peace and prevent further violence.
