ISLAMABAD: The participant of the 27th National workshop under the National Defence University made a detailed visit to Gwadar.
During the visit, they were given a detailed briefing on the strategic importance of CPEC, the secure operation of Gwadar Port, and the security arrangements along the coastal belt.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Gwadar briefed the delegation on the overall security environment of the region, the protection of key installations, and the ongoing measures being implemented across coastal areas.
Participants were informed that security forces are conducting coordinated operations to prevent terrorism, curb drug and goods smuggling, and ensure effective coastal surveillance.
The delegation also visited the China Business Center in Gwadar, where they were briefed on ongoing and future development projects at Gwadar Port, investment opportunities, and commercial activities.
Speaking on the occasion, the GOC Gwadar emphasized that along with maintaining peace and stability, ensuring the protection of investments, trade, and local development projects remains a top priority.
The workshop participants paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for its vital role in maintaining law and order in the Makran Division, creating a conducive environment for investment, and facilitating the timely completion of fast-paced development initiatives.
They noted that the positive changes in the region, improved security management, and extensive investment potential are highly encouraging.
At the end of the visit, the participants also toured Pakistan Point Gwadar and a Pakistan Navy ship, where they were briefed on maritime security and naval operations.
