Blast in Dera Ismail Khan martyers two police personnel

DI KHAN: Two police personnel were martyred when a blast hit police mobile in Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday.

According to the DSP, the explosion took place in the Hathala area of ​​Kulachi, killing two police personnel and seven others. A search operation is underway in the area.

Police and security forces rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. A search operation began immediately.

According to police, a remote-controlled device targeted the armoured vehicle on Hathala–Galoti Road.

Sources said the Tikwara police post’s armoured vehicle was on routine patrol when the blast occurred. The driver and a constable died on the spot. Four other personnel were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and paid tribute to the fallen officers.

He expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the swift recovery of the four injured personnel.
The minister said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officers continue to fight on the front line against terrorism. He added that the sacrifices of the martyred officers will not be forgotten.

Earlier, the ISPR said in a statement that security forces had killed 23 terrorists linked to India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij in two separate operations in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the ISPR, security forces, on 19 November 2025, launched the first operation after receiving intelligence about the presence of militants in the area. Troops struck the hideout and engaged the fighters. Twelve terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire.
