QUETTA: Highly credible sources have revealed that internationally designated terrorist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) commander Jaffar was killed in September 2025 in Helmand, Afghanistan, amid internal disputes within the group.
Commander Jaffar, also known as Mullah Ameen, was commander of the Fateh Squad of the BLA and was training the suicide bombers.
He was taking instructions from Bashir Zeb and was active in Harnai, Sibi, Mach, and Loralai. He trained suicide bombers in the Nagahao mountains on the instructions of Bashir Zeb and was involved in attacks that killed civilians.
According to the sources, the Baloch militant outfit is facing serious internal rifts over the distribution of funds.
The group concealed the commander’s death to prevent its organisational infighting from becoming public.
Meanwhile, a suicide blast struck Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Tuesday morning.
The explosion occurred near the Doa Ghoda Bridge in the Surani area, within the limits of Basia Khel Police Station.
Officials said the blast caused brief panic but no casualties or property damage.
Police said a motorcyclist carried out the attack and detonated explosives strapped to his body. The device went off on the roadside, away from populated areas, which limited the damage.
Security personnel cordoned off the scene and collected forensic evidence. Investigators are examining the type of explosives and any links to militant groups active in the region.
