ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign policy remains active, and the country’s narrative is being projected globally, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Monday.
Addressing an event in Islamabad, he credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for playing key roles in promoting Pakistan’s position internationally.
Tarar said Pakistan delivered a strong response to India in the May conflict and secured diplomatic gains afterwards.
He added that the government used social media to expose India’s false claims, earning recognition for Pakistan worldwide.
He described a new defense agreement with Saudi Arabia as a historic achievement, noting that bilateral relations are now strengthening.
The minister highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terrorism, with 90,000 lives lost, and stressed the country’s growing importance in a changing global landscape.
He also said Pakistan played a key role in facilitating a ceasefire in Gaza.
Tarar noted that government policies have stabilized the economy, a fact acknowledged by international organizations.
He added that Pakistan hosted the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference for the first time in 14 years, welcoming heads of state from around the world.
A day earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that he carries out his duties strictly according to the command and will of Allah, and that during the war with India, Allah granted victory and honour to Pakistan.
Speaking at the Presidency during the ceremony where Jordan’s King Abdullah II was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, he stated that Allah enabled Pakistan to stand tall in its conflict with India.
He emphasised that Pakistan is a peace-loving country, but if anyone imposes war on it, the response will be the same as the one delivered in May.
