DOHA: The Pakistan Shaheens secured a commanding victory over India A in their ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 group match, winning by eight wickets with plenty of overs to spare.
After winning the toss and electing to field first, Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the game. They efficiently bowled out the entire India A team for a modest total of 136 runs in just 19 overs. Only Suryavinshi (45) and Naman (35) offered significant resistance against a potent Pakistani bowling attack. Shahid was the standout bowler for the Shaheens, claiming three crucial wickets, while Saad and Moaz Sadaqat supported him well with two wickets each.
In response, the Pakistan Shaheens’ chase was swift and decisive. They comfortably reached the target of 137 runs in only the 14th over, losing just two wickets in the process. The victory was anchored by a magnificent, match-winning innings from Maaz Sadaqat, who smashed 79 runs and was also instrumental with the ball.
This comprehensive win gives the Pakistan Shaheens a strong start to their campaign in the tournament, showcasing a balanced team performance with both bowlers and batters firing in unison.
In a separate move Pakistan have white-washed Sri Lanka in the ODI series by winning the final one day by six wickets.
Pakistan, after having won the toss opted to bowl first. One a dry wicket, where runs were hard to come by, Pakistani bowlers bowled really well and restricted Sri Lanka to just 211 runs.
Samarawickrama scored 48 while Kusal Mendis made 34 runs. Mohammad Wasim Junior picked up three wickets.
Harish Rauf and Faisal Akram picked up two wickets each. While chasing the target of 212, Pakistan suffered an early loss when Hasibullah Khan got dismissed without scoring a run.
Fakhar Zaman made another half century and got out on a 45 ball 55 runs knock.
Babar Azam was cleaned up by young Wendersay after scoring a well-made 34 runs.
