ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that he carries out his duties strictly according to the command and will of Allah, and that during the war with India, Allah granted victory and honor to Pakistan.
Speaking at the Presidency during the ceremony where Jordan’s King Abdullah II was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, he stated that Allah enabled Pakistan to stand tall in its conflict with India.
He emphasized that Pakistan is a peace-loving country, but if anyone imposes war on it, the response will be the same as the one delivered in May.
He added that when a Muslim places full trust in Allah, even a handful of dust thrown at the enemy can turn into a powerful missile by His command.
He said that it is by Allah’s special grace that Pakistan defeated its adversary. “This is the army of Allah; our soldiers fight in His name,” he remarked.
Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred Pakistan’s highest civil award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, on Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
