QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has extended heartfelt congratulations to the national cricket team following Pakistan’s brilliant victory in the One Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka.
In a formal message, the Chief Minister stated that the national players have given immense joy to the entire nation through their excellent performance on the field. He declared that this recent success is a powerful testament to the fact that the Pakistani team possesses the ability and determination to excel in every field of the game.
While celebrating the home team’s triumph, CM Bugti also took a moment to appreciate the performance of the visiting Sri Lankan team. He commended them for setting a great example of sportsmanship by presenting excellent and competitive games throughout the series. He specifically lauded Sri Lanka’s unwavering commitment and passion for the sport of cricket.
The Chief Minister further highlighted the broader significance of such sporting events, stating that the active promotion of sports in the country is clear proof that the atmosphere of peace is strengthening. He asserted that the ambitions of terrorism are destined to fail, adding that “the settlement of sports fields is a clear proof of the victory of peace.”
In his message, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti specifically singled out captain Babar Azam’s century, terming the individual milestone a symbol of the entire team’s collective courage and determination. He concluded by praying that the national team continues its winning momentum with the same level of passion and dedication in future series.
In a seperate move the Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has unveiled a multi-million rupee development package for Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University while issuing a stern warning against what he termed “anti-state propaganda” targeting the youth.
Speaking at an Iqbal Day ceremony at the university, the Chief Minister announced a significant grant to transform the institution. The package includes a Rs. 10 million grant for new library books, the complete solarization of the campus, and the construction of a state-of-the-art auditorium. He also promised 10 new buses, 400 laptops for students and faculty, 10 electric campus vehicles, and an expanded “Pink Scooty Scheme” offering scooters to female students at a subsidized rate.
