North Waziristan elders pledge full support to Pakistan Army’s counterterror efforts

MIRANSHAH: An important jirga of elders and tribal leaders convened in Miranshah under the supervision of the Pakistan Army amid rising security concerns in North Waziristan.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Miranshah welcomed the participants and praised the tribal elders for their role in maintaining peace.

The jirga reviewed the security situation in North Waziristan and Bannu. It also discussed counterterrorism efforts and ongoing welfare projects.

The GOC highlighted the involvement of Afghan militants in recent terrorist incidents. He stressed the need for stronger coordination between the army, civil administration, and local communities.

Tribal leaders shared their proposals on improving law and order. They pledged full cooperation with state institutions.

The jirga ended with prayers for national unity and security.
