Four killed, including two brothers, in firing incident in Khaliqabad, Quetta

QUETTA: The four people, including two brothers, were shot dead when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Khaliqabad, a town near Manguchar in Balochistan’s Kalat.

The victims were targeted by unknown assailants who fled the scene immediately after the attack. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal procedures.

The deceased were brothers Shakir Saadullah and Shakir Khairullah, along with Muhammad Kareem and Muhammad Zahir. In this regard, the law enforcement personnel and Levies forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the perpetrators.

In this sense, the Levies officials stated that evidence has been collected from the crime scene and eyewitness accounts are being recorded to assist in identifying those responsible.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear, though authorities have not ruled out the possibility of personal enmity or a targeted attack.

Furthermore, the incidents of violence in parts of Balochistan have been a source of concern for local communities, with authorities focusing on their dedication to maintaining law and order in the region.

On the other hand, such brutality and lawlessness raise questions on the situation of law-and-order and the role of the police and the other concerning departments.

One of the most unfortunate aspects of the murder incidents occurring in Balochistan is, that they are carried out by the tribals and the Jirgas across the province themselves.

Such incidents raise deprivation and uncertainty among the people if the justice is not served through the policing and the judiciary system.

A harsh and credible system of law-and-order has become mandatory in order to obstruct the brutal killing and make the people feel afraid of the law system. A justice delayed should go down as justice denied.

The bodies of the victims were handed over to their families after completion of hospital procedures.
