ICC Suspends Haris Rauf for violating Code of Conduct

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf for two matches following a breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Asia Cup 2025.

According to the ICC, Rauf has been handed a two-match suspension, a 30 percent fine on his match fee, and four demerit points for violating conduct regulations. As a result, he will miss the first two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against South Africa.

The hearings were conducted by members of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees following incidents in the matches between India and Pakistan on 14, 21 and 28 September.

Meanwhile, opener Sahibzada Farhan has received one demerit point and an official warning. In a separate decision, India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined 30 percent of his match fee and issued two demerit points for violating Article 2.21 of the ICC Code of Conduct.

However, the ICC did not take action against Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, stating that allegations of making obscene gestures could not be substantiated.

It is noteworthy that after the match against Pakistan, Suryakumar Yadav made politically charged statements, but the ICC chose not to impose a suspension.
