QUETTA: A major new Trauma Centre on Spini Road is nearly complete and is scheduled to be inaugurated by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on November 15.
According to Dr. Arbab Kamran, the Managing Director of the centre, the facility will start with a capacity for 120 patients, with plans to expand it to 200. It will be equipped with modern medical technology, including a laboratory and CT scan machines.
The development was confirmed during an inspection visit by Balochistan’s Health Minister, Bakht Muhammad Kakar. He was briefed on the progress and directed officials to ensure the project is finished promptly and meets international standards.
Minister Kakar described the Trauma Centre as a milestone for the province that will significantly enhance emergency medical services for the people of Quetta and the wider region. He reiterated the government’s commitment to upgrading health sector infrastructure across Balochistan.
The government is preparing to inaugurate a modern 100-bedded Trauma Centre in Quetta, indicating an important step in the province’s healthcare development. The new facility is being seen as a great initiative in order to strengthen emergency medical services and provide advanced healthcare support to the people of Balochistan.
In this regard, the Trauma Centre, designed according to international standards, indicates the provincial government’s commitment to improving medical infrastructure and ensuring the availability of timely, high-quality healthcare.
In this sense, healthcare experts have focused on the fact that trauma and emergency care are among the most pressing needs in Balochistan, particularly due to the province’s geographical challenges and the frequency of road accidents, natural disasters, and security-related emergencies.
