Widespread police transfers ordered across Balochistan

QUETTA : The Balochistan Police Department has implemented a significant reshuffle of senior officers across multiple districts, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday.

The major appointments include Captain (R) Asif Khan’s appointment as the new SSP Operations Quetta, replacing Captain (R) Muhammad Baloch who has been transferred to SSP Investigation Quetta.

Other key postings feature Zahid Hussain Shah as SP Kalat, Muhammad Anwar Badini as SP Duki, and Syed Abdul Saboor as SP Pishin. The reshuffle also includes Akhtar Muhammad Achakzai appointed as SP Sorab and Ali Raza as SP Investigation for the Serious Crime Investigation Wing.

Specialized positions have been filled with Muhammad Maroof Usman as SP Technical for CTD Balochistan, Sardarzada Ahmed Umrani as AIG Gender, and Zubair Ahmad Durrani as DSP Crime Branch. Officers Rehmatullah and Khurram Mahesar have been directed to report to the Central Police Office for further assignments.

Meanwhile in a significant move to enhance women’s safety, the Balochistan government has announced the creation of a dedicated Women Protection Force.

This new force, established by the provincial Home Department, is designed to provide immediate protection and response for women and girls facing harassment, violence, or sexual assault.

To further strengthen these efforts, the provincial cabinet has also approved a Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit. This unit will operate under the Anti-Rape Act and will be responsible for investigating these serious crimes across the province.
