QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel has directed authorities to exempt persons with disabilities from fares on the Green Bus Service and to offer special concessions to senior citizens and students.
The governor also instructed officials to immediately schedule two buses from Quetta to Education City to make public transport more accessible and equitable for all residents.
He issued these directives during a meeting with Provincial Secretary Transport Hayat Khan Kakar and Chief Executive Officer of the Public-Private Partnership Authority Dr. Faisal Kakar at the Governor House in Quetta.
Briefed on the Green Bus Service project, Governor Mandokhel said he takes satisfaction in initiatives that bring relief to ordinary citizens. He noted that the project has provided improved transport facilities to the residents of Quetta and its surrounding areas.
Mandokhel praised the initiative, saying that any project centered on public welfare is bound to succeed. He also expressed satisfaction over the arrival of 21 green and pink buses in Karachi, which will soon begin operations in Quetta and Turbat.
