Balochistan advances plan for digital Business Facilitation Centre

QUETTA: The Balochistan government is advancing its plan to create a centralised hub to simplify business operations and attract investment to the province.

A key meeting was held on the special directives of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, chaired by Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Investment Board. The session included officials from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), who shared their expertise in setting up similar digital business services.

The discussion focused on technical cooperation and digital integration to establish the Balochistan Business Facilitation Centre (BFC). Bilal Khan Kakar stated that the provincial government is dedicated to creating a transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly environment by digitising business services.

He explained that the planned centre will act as a single platform for investors, consolidating services like business registration and licensing under one roof. The government has expressed a firm commitment to establishing the BFC promptly to promote investment and drive sustainable economic development in Balochistan.

In seperate move Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) and the provincial Fisheries Department in a ceremony at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday, a move hailed as a milestone for the province’s economy.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, who presided over the event, described the pact as the practical realization of a long-standing dream for Balochistan. He praised the efforts of the teams involved and highlighted the vast investment opportunities in key sectors like fisheries, agriculture, and mining.
