UN releases numbers of militants present in Afghanistan

QUETTA: The United Nations have released a report on the undeniable number of militants present in Afghanistan.

According to details, the report 46 of the United Nations reveals some shocking facts about the activities of the Al-Qaeda and Khawarij militants in Afghanistan.

The report was put forth to the United Nation’s Security Council on the 24th July 2025. On the 16th page of the report, it has been disclosed that the informal officials of Afghanistan have given a space for free movement to the militant groups.

According to the report, majority of the militants are Arab nationals, the ones who have been launching joint militant-attacks with the Taliban in the past.

Al-Qaeda and its allies are spread in Ghazni, Hilmand, Kandahar, Kunar, Arzgan and Zahil areas of Afghanistan.

The report reveals that there are training centers associated to Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

Three new training centers have been identified where the militants of Al-Qaeda and Khawarij are trained.

The paragraph 19 of the report says that the Fitna al Khawarij has as many as six thousand militants.

The elimination of the facilitation networks to the militants is unavoidable for a durable peace in the region.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan has been persistent that the militant groups present on Afghanistan’s territory are launching attacks on the security forces and the civilians in Pakistan.

Kabul needs to review to its policy of providing the militant groups with the facilitation.

The number of attacks carried out by the militants in the KP and Balochistan areas of Pakistan has increased to a larger extent.

So far, hundred of thousands of people have been killed in these attacks.

But Afghanistan has not yet taken any necessary measures against these militant groups which leads to strain between the two countries at the moment.

Both the countries have confronted military clashes on the borders in the ongoing couple of weeks.
