CHAMAN: At least 20 Afghan Taliban fighters have been killed and 25 others wounded in the retaliatory strikes by the Pakistan security forces after the Afghan Taliban laucnhed attack on civilian populations at Chaman Border last night.
According to security forces, Afghan Taliban fighters opened indiscriminate fire on the civilian population near Chaman under the cover of darkness. The unprovoked attack left a child and two other civilians injured, triggering widespread panic in the border town.
In response, Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) launched a strong and effective counter-offensive, striking multiple Taliban positions across the border. Security sources confirmed that Pakistani artillery accurately targeted the militants’ hideouts, inflicting heavy losses.
According to initial reports, at least 20 Taliban fighters have been killed and 25 others wounded in the retaliatory strikes. Military officials stated that the operation is ongoing and aimed at neutralizing any remaining hostile positions responsible for the unprovoked aggression.
Local sources reported that the Taliban’s gunfire targeted residential areas without provocation, drawing sharp condemnation from residents who described the assault as “barbaric and cowardly.” Authorities temporarily closed educational institutions in Chaman, citing security concerns after the attack.

Witnesses and security officials accused the Afghan Taliban of acting as “enemies of education and enlightenment,” saying their actions had once again endangered innocent lives.
