Paramedical staff resume services at Turbat Teaching Hospital

TURBAT: Medical and paramedical services at Turbat Teaching Hospital have been fully restored following the swift action of the hospital administration and police against those involved in the recent assault on paramedical staff.

In a joint meeting held at the office of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) District Kech and the Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (Registered 2076), members strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict legal action against the perpetrators.

According to details, the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday, October 11, 2025, inside the hospital’s children’s ward, where paramedics were subjected to violence. The associations termed the attack a direct assault on the morale of healthcare professionals and the integrity of the entire health system.

Leaders of the PMA and the Paramedical Staff Association lauded the prompt response of the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr. Waheed Baloidi Baloch, who immediately registered a formal complaint, leading to swift police action. Turbat Police, demonstrating professionalism and efficiency, arrested the suspects within 24 hours of the incident.

The meeting noted that medical professionals—especially paramedics and doctors—who work tirelessly to treat patients suffering from dangerous infectious diseases such as HIV, HBsAg, and HCV, deserve full protection and respect. Any attack on them, the associations stressed, must be treated as an attack on the entire healthcare system.
