QUETTA: Balochistan lawmaker has told a major international conference that while Pakistan is a peaceful nation, its patience in the face of terrorism should not be mistaken for weakness.
Member of the Balochistan Assembly, Farah Azeem Shah, addressed the 68th conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Speaking on conflict resolution and counter-terrorism, she stated that Pakistan has always promoted peace and harmony.
She highlighted that Pakistan, and particularly Balochistan, has been a severe victim of terrorism for decades. She noted that this has resulted in the loss of precious lives and severe damage to infrastructure.
Despite this suffering, Shah emphasized that Pakistan has shown patience and forbearance.
In a significant move, the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association approved proposals for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and countering extremism, which were advocated by the Pakistani delegate. This development is being seen as an honor for Pakistan and Balochistan province.

Meanwhile former Balochistan Information Minister Jan Achakzai has stated that Pakistan’s recent military actions in Afghanistan are not a war against the Afghan people, but a targeted campaign against the Taliban-led government and terrorist groups.
In a post on social media platform X, Achakzai clarified Pakistan’s position regarding ongoing border clashes. He asserted that the conflict has been “imposed on Pakistan” by what he called the “interim government of Afghanistan, the Taliban, and the Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists.”
