CM Bugti reviews PSDP implementation and youth skills program

Quetta – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti presided over a high-level meeting to review the progress of the Provincial Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).

The session was attended by the Provincial Ministers for Planning & Development, Communications & Works, and Education, along with the Chief Secretary and administrative secretaries of all departments.

In Balochistan news updates, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning & Development, Zahid Saleem, delivered a detailed briefing on ongoing projects.

The Chief Minister praised departments ensuring swift execution of development schemes and admonished those showing delays, directing all departments to complete approved projects by January.

Updates included rapid work on the Green Bus expansion, with procurement of new buses finalized and expected to arrive at Karachi Port in the second week of October.

Bugti ordered that both the Green and Pink Bus expansion projects must be completed within October, instructing that the number of Green Buses be increased and a dedicated Pink Bus service for women launched soon to provide greater urban mobility.

Bugti also announced an electric bike installment scheme for working women, emphasizing his commitment to empowering females across the province.

He instructed those technical approvals for proposals in the upcoming budget be finalized by May and stressed that the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team will closely monitor the quality and timely implementation of all development projects.

“Reducing hardships for ordinary citizens is our top priority, and every department must play an active role,” he said.

Later, the Chief Minister chaired an important consultative session on the Chief Minister’s Youth Skills Development Program, discussing its expansion, progress, and future goals.

Highlighting the need to equip young people with modern skills to access international employment markets, Bugti said the program is being strengthened through partnerships with reputable institutions and firms.

He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to place Balochistan on a path of economic growth by creating a skilled workforce, adding that the initiative will open doors of employment and ensure that Balochistan’s youth—its “most valuable asset”—become empowered contributors to the provinces and the country’s future economy.
