OTTAWA: Pakistan’s Noor Zaman has won the Nash Cup squash tournament in Canada, claiming a decisive victory in the final on Sunday.
Zaman defeated the tournament’s second seed, Mustafa Al-Sarti of Egypt, in a straight-sets match that lasted 52 minutes. The Pakistani player secured a hard-fought first game with a score of 19-17 before dominating the next two games 11-7 and 11-9 to clinch the title.
The Nash Cup is a Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour event with a total prize money of $31,250.
