Mandokhail Pledges Billions in Development for Zhob, Vows Transparency

ZHOB: During a large public gathering , Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail announced that bringing multi-billion rupee development projects to Zhob district was a major challenge that has been overcome with the trust and support of the area’s tribes and communities .

Marking the start of his two-day visit to the city, the Governor Mandokhail promised that all “people-friendly” projects would be completed in a timely and sequential manner, ensuring their benefits reach the poor. He declared transparency, accountability, and timely delivery as his guiding principles, aiming to make Zhob a “light of construction and development” .

Governor Mandokhail outlined specific initiatives for the city, including the establishment of a large public park and new educational institutions . A key announcement was the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-approved Danish School, which he said would “pave the way for an educational revolution” in Zhob . He stated that providing education, healthcare, and clean drinking water at the people’s doorstep are among his top priorities .

Reiterating a consistent theme of his tenure, Governor Mandokhail said he has kept the doors of the Governor House in Quetta open to all people from his first day in office . He credited selfless public service for the trust people have placed in him.

The event also saw dozens of people announce they were joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Governor Mandokhail congratulated the new members and thanked the organizers for the successful rally .

Four students were wounded Friday when a police guard accidentally opened fire outside the residence of Balochistan’s governor in Zhob, officials said.

Authorities said the incident occurred when the local police station chief accidentally fired his weapon. The victims, all visitors who had come to meet Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, were rushed to Zhob’s Civil Hospital. The injured were students among the visitors who came to see the governor.

It was not immediately clear whether the governor was inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

Police said an investigation into the incident was underway.
