DC Naseerabad chairs key meeting on education sector reforms

NASEERABAD: The deputy commissioner (DC) Naseerabad, Munir Ahmed Khan Kakar, presided over an important meeting of the District Education Group to review the state of education across the district.

The session, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, was attended by senior education officials, concerned officers, and committee members. Furthermore, the meeting focused on assessing the overall educational environment, with particular focus on ensuring teacher attendance in government schools.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Kakar underlined the importance of teacher presence, noting that absenteeism directly affects the academic growth of children.

He stressed that no compromise would be tolerated on this matter, as the absence of teachers not only undermines student learning but also weakens public confidence in the education system.

Furthermore, the meeting resolved that surprise and unannounced visits will be conducted at government schools across the district. These inspections will be aimed at monitoring teacher attendance, classroom engagement, and the overall learning environment.

In this sense, the Deputy Commissioner directed Assistant Commissioners and Tehsildars to play a vigilant role in ensuring effective supervision of educational institutions within their respective jurisdictions.

He instructed them to maintain regular oversight, report irregularities without delay, and ensure corrective action is taken against absentee staff.

Moreover, the DC also focused on the collaborative efforts between local administration and the education department to address challenges such as infrastructure gaps, shortage of teaching staff, and the need for improved facilities in rural schools.

He noted that the success of reforms depends on collective responsibility and the active participation of all stakeholders.

In addition, the committee members welcomed the directives and expressed their commitment to implementing the measures outlined in the meeting.
