Pakistan’s National T20 captain, Salman Agha, has declared his team “ready” for the Asia Cup final after an exciting 11-run victory over Bangladesh secured their place.
Speaking after the match, Agha praised his team’s performance, stating that winning such close games is the mark of a “special team.” He specifically highlighted the excellent bowling and fielding, crediting bowler Shaheen Afridi for applying pressure from the very beginning.
The win sets up a historic final. For the first time in the 41-year history of the Asia Cup, arch-rivals Pakistan and India will face each other in the tournament’s final match on Sunday, September 28.

This final is a landmark event, as the two teams have never met in an Asia Cup final before. In the current tournament, India has won both of their previous matches against Pakistan.
Since the tournament began in 1984, India has been the most successful team, winning the Asia Cup 8 times, followed by Sri Lanka with 6 wins. Pakistan has won the title twice.
