Balochistan establishes ‘Climate Fund’ to tackle environmental challenges

Balochistan government approves climate change fund

QUETTA:Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has announced the establishment of a “Climate Fund” to combat the severe environmental challenges facing Balochistan.

The announcement was made during a meeting with Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change. CM Bugti highlighted that the province is among the regions most affected by climate change, with droughts, water scarcity, and rising temperatures severely impacting public life.

 

Describing the initiative as a “revolutionary step,” the Chief Minister stated that the fund will be used to finance projects focused on environmental protection, the better use of water resources, and other eco-friendly initiatives. The meeting focused on collaborative strategies to address these pressing issues.
