QUETTA: The Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, has stated that the country can only be saved from its current crises by an honest and God-fearing leadership. He said the current rulers must first admit their failures.

He made these remarks at a ceremony where the Vice Chancellor of Alhamd Islamic University, Prof. Dr. Shakeel Roshan, and the former president of PML-Q Balochistan joined the Jamaat-e-Islami.

During his speech, Hafiz Naeem criticized the high levels of corruption in Sindh and Balochistan, blaming political patronage for allowing mafias to thrive. He highlighted the severe education crisis in Balochistan, pointing out that 2.6 million children are out of school. “Education is not charity, it is every child’s right,” he said.

He also questioned the government’s development priorities, asking why solar power projects were installed in Bahawalpur instead of sun-rich areas like Ziarat to generate cheaper electricity. He called for an end to tribal and ethnic biases, insisting that justice and merit should be the foundation for all decisions.

Meanwhile, the new joiner, Prof. Dr. Shakeel Roshan, announced that his university will partner with the JI’s Al-Khidmat Foundation for its ‘Bano Qabil’ youth training program. He said this step is crucial for education and to overcome the climate of fear in Balochistan through learning and justice.

JI’s Balochistan chapter leader, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, welcomed the new members and stated that their joining would strengthen the party’s mission to implement an Islamic system and solve public problems.
