QUETTA: Farmers in Balochistan affected by the devastating 2022 floods have taken their case to the Balochistan high court after failing to receive any promised government help for rehabilitation.
A group called the Farmers Action Committee has filed a formal petition at the Balochistan High Court. They argue that the government has not provided any relief or assistance to help them recover from the flood damage, even years after the disaster.
The massive floods in 2022 caused widespread damage across the province, ruining lands and properties. The landlords claim they have been waiting for aid since then but have received nothing.
By going to court, the committee is asking the judges to order the government to fulfill its promises and provide the necessary support to the affected landowners.
