Gwadar to Oman trip ends in disaster; 22 Bannu fishermen missing

According to details, the 23 men had traveled from the port of Gwadar to fish in Oman on September 6. Their boat met with a disaster when a fire broke out in the launch's compressor, causing it to sink.

BANNU / GWADAR: A tragic fishing accident in Omani waters has left 22 fishermen from Khojari village in Bannu missing and feared drowned.

According to details, the 23 men had traveled from the port of Gwadar to fish in Oman on September 6.  Their boat met with a disaster when a fire broke out in the launch’s compressor, causing it to sink.

One fisherman was successfully rescued by the crew of a nearby ship. However, the remaining 22 individuals are still missing.

Member of the National Assembly from Bannu, Maulana Naseem Ali Shah, confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, the grieving families of the missing fishermen are desperately trying to contact the Pakistani embassy in Oman. They have made a heartfelt appeal to both the Pakistani and Omani governments to urgently launch a search operation to find their loved ones.
