GWADAR: The Balochistan Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has launched a new project to install modern solar-powered street lights along Marine Drive.
The initiative began on the direct instructions of the authority’s Director General, Moinur Rehman Khan. Officials say the project has a dual benefit: it promotes clean, environmentally friendly energy and provides a long-term solution to persistent issues like electricity theft and load-shedding.
Once completed, the new solar lights will ensure Marine Drive is fully illuminated throughout the night. This is expected to create a more attractive and secure environment for citizens and visitors.
The BGDA also announced that this is just the first phase of a larger plan. In the future, other major highways in the region will also be converted to the same modern solar lighting system.
