ISLAMABAD: The federal government has taken a principled decision to shift the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary (FC) from Peshawar to Islamabad. The move is in order to strengthen the force’s operational efficiency and ensuring better coordination with law enforcement institutions in the federal capital.
Furthermore, the decision was announced during an important meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters.
In this regard, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, Commandant and Deputy Commandant of the Federal Constabulary, Chairman CDA, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, and other senior officials attended the session.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed authorities to immediately identify suitable land in the federal capital for the construction of the new FC Headquarters.
He focused on the fact that the selection of the site should be made while keeping in view both the administrative requirements of the headquarters and the training needs of the force.
Furthermore, the minister further stated that the Federal Constabulary will be developed on modern lines and transformed into a well-organized and highly efficient security force.
In addition, Naqvi also instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the new headquarters so that the project could be executed without delay.
The participants of the meeting expressed their full support for the relocation plan and assured that all necessary steps would be taken on a priority basis to finalize land allocation and initiate work on the master plan.

The CDA chairman briefed the meeting on possible land options in Islamabad and confirmed that a final proposal would soon be presented.
