ISLAMABAD: Activist Salma Khan has strongly criticized several prominent human rights figures for what she calls their “selective” and “dramatic” approach to human rights.
In an interview, Khan alleged that activists like Mahrang Lango, Sami Din, Iman Mazari, and journalists Asad Toor and Hamid Mir regularly attend sit-ins to “defame the state” but were silent on the recent killings of individuals from Punjab and Sindh’s Saraiki belt. She claimed these people were targeted by “fitna Al Hindustan” based on their identity.
She questioned why these individuals do not condemn these deaths, arguing that if they truly believe in human rights, Punjabis and Saraikis also deserve their advocacy.
Khan made particularly sharp remarks against Iman Mazari, calling her a “facilitator of sedition” and stating she is “not the daughter of Pakistan.”
In contrast, the activist praised a recent security forces operation in Mastung, stating that such intelligence-based actions are crucial for bringing peace to Balochistan.
