BANNU: Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, had a visit to Bannu where they attended a series of high-level engagements focused on the security situation and the ongoing fight against terrorism.
In this regard, both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief participated in an important meeting on counter-terrorism.
During the visit, they also joined the funeral prayers of 12 soldiers who embraced martyrdom during a recent operation in South Waziristan, paying tribute to their sacrifice in defending the nation.
In this regard, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s constant resolve to confront terrorism in all its forms.
Furthermore, mentioning the involvement of Afghan nationals in cross-border attacks, the Prime Minister underlined the urgency of repatriating illegal Afghan residents from Pakistan.
He added that such measures are crucial for ensuring long-term national security.
In this sense, rejecting political point-scoring and misleading narratives on terrorism, the Prime Minister stressed that the people of Pakistan fully support the state and its armed forces.
Moreover, the Prime Minister appreciated the resilient people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who, he said, stand united with the state and armed forces like a “solid wall” against external conspiracies.
During the visit, the Prime Minister and the Army Chief also visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu, where they met soldiers injured in counter-terrorism operations.
The Corps Commander Peshawar briefed the dignitaries on the overall security situation and measures being implemented in the region.

The Prime Minister was warmly received by the Chief of Army Staff upon his arrival at Bannu Cantonment, marking a visit that reasserted Pakistan’s determination to eliminate terrorism and safeguard national sovereignty.
