ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will launch thier Asia Cup T20 campaign against Oman in Dubai on Friday, state broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported.
The eight-nation tournament began Tuesday when Afghanistan thrashed Hong Kong by 94 runs. India followed with a nine-wicket victory over hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday, while Bangladesh defeated Hong Kong by seven wickets in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
“In the fourth match of the event, Pakistan will face Oman in Dubai,” Radio Pakistan said.
Pakistan enter the competition on the back of a tri-series win in the UAE involving Afghanistan and the hosts.
“We’re very much focused on improving as a team day by day, and not getting too far ahead of ourselves,” Pakistan coach Mike Hesson told reporters ahead of the fixture.
Group A features India, Pakistan, Oman and the UAE, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Bangladesh.

The top two sides from each group will advance to the Super Four stage. The leading two teams from that round will contest the final in Dubai on September 28.
