QUETTA : Strong criticism has been leveled against Balochistani nationalist leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Akhtar Mengal, with claims that they have been “rejected by the people of Balochistan.”
A social activist, Ali Achakzai, alleged that after facing public rejection, these leaders resort to spreading chaos. He specifically accused them of setting up disruptive roadblocks, comparing their actions to creating fitna (strife). He claimed that a recent strike call was ineffective, stating, “I traveled from Quetta to Chaman that day, but people did not come out.”
Further allegations were made regarding the misuse of development funds. The activist claimed that these nationalist leaders are “corrupting the development funds that come in and filling their pockets.”
The commentary concluded by asserting that the people of Balochistan are sending a message that they are “fed up with nationalists” and their tactics, suggesting a growing disillusionment with their traditional leadership.
