TIANJIN: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have raised the issue of foreign involvement in militant attacks in KP and Balochistan during the SCO conference.
Speaking at the 25th SCO Heads of State Council Meeting in Tianjin, China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the Chinese President and government for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements.
He said the SCO reflects Pakistan’s enduring commitment to advancing regional cooperation and integration.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan firmly believes in multilateralism, dialogue, and the power of diplomacy.
He reiterated that nothing is more important for any country than sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that Pakistan respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all SCO member states and neighboring countries.
Highlighting the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he termed it a remarkable project between the two countries.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s respect for all international and bilateral agreements, noting that unhindered access to water resources in line with agreements would further strengthen SCO’s objectives.
Shehbaz Sharif added that Pakistan seeks normal relations with all its neighbors and is committed to dialogue and diplomacy to achieve this.
He underlined that sustainable peace in South Asia requires comprehensive dialogue, which could resolve longstanding disputes.
On the situation in Gaza, the Prime Minister said the ongoing oppression and starvation there are an unending scar on the world’s collective conscience.
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the UN-backed two-state solution and called for an immediate end to bloodshed and violence.
Discussing terrorism, he said Pakistan has rendered immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, while extremism, separatism, and terrorism remain a serious threat to the entire region. He categorically condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the world rejects the false narratives of states that exploit terrorism as a political weapon.
He revealed that there is concrete evidence of foreign involvement in recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that perpetrators of such heinous crimes and their facilitators must be held accountable.

Shehbaz Sharif concluded by reiterating that Afghanistan is Pakistan’s brotherly neighbor and emphasized that a stable Afghanistan is not only in Pakistan’s interest but also in the best interest of the entire region.
