GILGIT: At least three personnel of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Scout were injured when unidentified assailants attacked a security check post near Chilas Hodur, officials said on Thursday.
According to Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq, the attackers targeted the GB Scouts check post late Wednesday. The injured personnel were shifted to a hospital, where they are currently under treatment.
Following the incident, security in the area was heightened, and law enforcement agencies launched a search and target operation to trace the assailants.
Faraq added that the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan took strong notice of the “unfortunate incident” and directed security forces to ensure swift action against those involved. Security forces have since cordoned off the area and intensified operations.
