JEDDAH: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks endorsing the idea of a “Greater Israel” posed a serious threat to regional and global peace.
He showed his presence at an extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah, Dar said Israel’s leadership was displaying “brazen audacity” through provocative rhetoric and aggressive plans that undermine international law.
He cautioned that Netanyahu’s allusion to “Greater Israel” and Tel Aviv’s decision to extend full military control over Gaza reflected an “annexationist mindset” that could further destabilize the Middle East.
Netanyahu mentioned in a media interview that he subscribed to the “vision” of a Greater Israel, remarks that have since drawn sharp criticism worldwide. Dar reasserted Pakistan’s strong condemnation, aligning with the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee and 31 OIC member states in rejecting Israel’s announcements.
In this sense, calling Gaza “a graveyard for innocent lives as well as for international law,” Dar showed grievances over the killing of over 60,000 Palestinians and condemned the targeting of hospitals, schools, and aid facilities as “wanton acts of collective punishment.”
He underlined that the ongoing famine in Gaza was “man-made” and a direct result of Israel’s blockade.

Furthermore, Dar outlined seven urgent steps to address the crisis, including an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, support for UNRWA, an end to illegal settlements, reconstruction of Gaza, accountability for war crimes, and revival of a two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital. “Another Nakba cannot, and must not, be allowed to happen,” he stressed.
