VBMP’s propaganda on missing persons termed baseless

TURBAT: The recent claims which have been dismissed by the authorities that are circulated by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) regarding the alleged disappearance of a Turbat resident, Usman Maqbool, calling the narrative misleading and without factual basis.

In this regard, Usman Maqbool, a resident of Turbat, had long been associated with outlawed militant groups and was reportedly acting as a facilitator for their activities. In this sense, fearing arrest due to his links with banned outfits, Maqbool allegedly went into hiding on his own and later joined militant camps based in the mountains.

Furthermore, there are several sources further revealed that the current claims being promoted by VBMP were part of a recurring pattern of propaganda campaigns. Moreover, the authorities stressed that VBMP’s statements carried no verifiable evidence and were intended to fuel distrust against security forces operating in Balochistan.

They pointed out that security agencies are engaged in protecting the lives of citizens and ensuring peace in the province, which has been repeatedly targeted by violent attacks from proscribed organizations. In this context, spreading fabricated stories against the state, they said, only serves the agenda of anti-state elements.
