Upper Dir: Locals foil kidnapping attempt in Dobando Dara

UPPER DIR: The kidnapping attempt by terrorists was foiled in the Dobando Dara area of Upper Dir, after local residents put up resistance and forced the attackers to flee. The attempt was thwarted when local residents confronted the assailants, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. 

The encounter lasted for about five to six minutes, after which the attackers retreated into the surrounding hills. In this sense, residents who witnessed the episode described the incident as a grave threat to the safety and dignity of the community. “The presence of such extremists endangers the honor, lives, and property of the people.

Furthermore, community members stressed that such attempts are part of a broader pattern of intimidation and violence that has disrupted the lives of ordinary citizens in remote areas. Moreover, locals further appealed to the authorities to take decisive action to eliminate extremist hideouts and ensure that militants do not regain a foothold in peaceful areas.

The people of Dobando Dara reasserted their resolve to stand united against any threat to their honor and security, urging that only through joint efforts of the state and local communities can the menace of extremism be fully eradicated.
