QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Balochistan Zone has thwarted an attempt by four Bangladeshi nationals to cross illegally into Iran and arrested two agents involved in human smuggling.
The operation was carried out by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Quetta as part of an ongoing crackdown against human smuggling networks in the province. The timely action not only prevented the illegal movement but also led to the arrest of two notorious agents identified as Nadir and his associate Haider.
The spokesperson said that the four Bangladeshi nationals in custody were identified as Atiqur Rehman, Shaman, Khairul Hasan, and Ratan Ali. Initial investigations revealed that they had entered Pakistan unlawfully and were attempting to reach Iran with the assistance of the arrested facilitators.
Furthermore, the arrested individuals were apprehended following a tip-off regarding the planned illegal movement. FIA officials stated that the operation was conducted swiftly to prevent the suspects from escaping or successfully crossing the border.
Moreover, human smuggling remains a significant challenge in Balochistan, given its proximity to international borders.
The spokesperson further stated that the FIA will continue its operations against human traffickers with full force, ensuring that no group or individual is allowed to exploit foreign nationals or misuse Pakistan’s territory for unlawful purposes.
The arrested Bangladeshi nationals and agents are currently in FIA custody, and formal investigations are underway.
