Field Marshal visits Turbat to review security situation, uplift projects

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Turbat, Balochistan, on Friday to review the security situation and assess ongoing development projects, the military said.

The Pakistan Army media affairs wing, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said  Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the army’s commitment to work alongside the people of Balochistan for peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth.

He met with the Balochistan chief minister and senior civil officials. He underlined the need for good governance, infrastructure development, and inclusive, people-focused progress. He called for stronger civil-military coordination to address local challenges and support socio-economic uplift in southern Balochistan.

During his interaction with troops, the army chief praised their morale, operational readiness, and role in safeguarding national sovereignty. He commended their efforts in maintaining stability under difficult conditions.

The ISPR said Asim Munir received a detailed briefing on security dynamics, including threats from “Fitna al Hindustan,” counterterrorism operations, and progress on development initiatives in the region.

The Balochistan chief minister, chief secretary, and other officials attended the visit. Corps Commander Balochistan received Munir on his arrival.
